Kim Tillie heads to Olympiacos
Kim Tillie (210 cm, Utah ’10) agreed to terms with Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (Greece-A1). Tillie was with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain-Liga Endesa) over the last three seasons and provided quality minutes off the bench. In the Liga Endesa games, the French big man scored 6.4 ppg while grabbing 3.5 rpg in 18.9 mpg. Baskonia just underwent a very successful season, going 23-9 in the Liga Endesa which put them in second. The are also in the Euroleague but finished their run in the quarterfinals. There aren’t many players with the amount of high-level basketball experience than this 29-year-old big man.
His experience now grows even more with his first appearance in Greece. Olympiacos is a dominant force in the A1 as they took home the regular season crown a year ago with a 25-1 record. They made it to the A1 finals in the postseason but came up short against the other 25-1 team in the league, Panathinaikos (Greece-A1) in an epic five-game series. Olympiacos is now filling out their roster in order to have another dominant season. Tillie will add much more athleticism to the front line as well as the ability to play the stretch-four. His specialty is coming off the bench for a championship caliber team. He will do the same next season.
