Kevin Punter heads to Antwerp
Kevin Punter (188 cm, Tennessee ’16) has agreed to terms with the Port of Antwerp Giants (Belgium-Euromillions). The 23-year-old guard is joining an Antwerp team in the middle of a strong season. Currently, they sit in second place in the Euromillions league with a 17-9 record and are 4-2 in their European Cup group. Antwerp’s starting five consists of all Americans and now they’ll add another to their roster.
Punter moves to Antwerp after playing with Lavrio (Greece-A1) this season. In 21 games in the Greek league, Punter averaged 12.5 ppg in 22.7 mpg while shooting 43.2 percent from three. He also reeled in 2.4 rpg. This season marks the first in Punter’s professional career and he showed off his scoring ability right out of the gate. Scoring in bunches is nothing new for Punter as he scored 22.2 ppg in his final season at Tennessee. His shooting consistency will be a reliable weapon for his new team.
