Kevin Love suffers broken hand, out 6-8 weeks
Kevin Love suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand on Tuesday night. He was injured in the first quarter of the Cavaliers’ game against the Pistons. Love is expected to miss around 6-8 weeks as he recovers from this injury.
The Cavaliers have been planning to make some major moves before the trade deadline. They were initially interested in acquiring a scoring guard to help out LeBron James on the offensive end of the floor. However, they may also need to go after a big man as well. Before going down, Love was averaging 17.9 ppg and 9.4 rpg for the season and it will be tough to replace his production. Given the way things stand now, it appears that the Cavaliers will be major players in the trade market. They have Brooklyn’s 1st-round pick for the 2018 draft, which could be a key trading chip in order for them to retool their roster for the post-season.
