KAO Dramas hires new coach
Greek A1 team, KAO Dramas has agreed to terms with new Bosnian Head Coach, Nenad Markovic. Greek Coach Kalafatakis parts ways with the team after 18 months. KAOD has made the decision for a change after its loss to Apollon Patras on its own home court. Markovic comes with experience coaching in Greece’s A1 league. He coached Panionios on Telecoms Athens from 2007-2010. In 2010 Nenad was selected to coach one of the teams in the Greek League All-star game.
Even though Markovic has been working in Greece for some time now, he stays in touch with basketball circles in his home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In fact, he was the coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Under-18 basketball team in 2012. He also brings with him a wealth of experience as a player. He played for a couple Greek teams in his career; namely Panionios Athens in 2004 and 2001-02, also for Olympiakos SFP Pireus in 2002-03. Markovic was also notably a member of the Bosnian National Team from 1995-2001 and even was part of the team that reached the European Championships in Turkey in 2001.
