Jumaine Jones leaves Bnei Hasharon

Jumaine Jones (203 cm, Georgia’99) has officially left Bnei Hasharon (Israel-Winner League). He played six games with the squad, pulling down impressive numbers of 14.0ppg, 10.2rpg, and 4.3apg. His rebound total was good enough to have him listed at the number three spot in the league. Jones played two seasons at the University of Georgia, earning career 16.6ppg and 9.0rpg in the tough SEC. After his second second he declared himself eligible for the NBA draft and was picked in the 1st round (27th pick overall) by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1999 NBA Draft. Atlanta traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers where he played two seasons. In his NBA career he played for Cleveland, Boston, Los Angeles (Lakers), Charlotte, and Phoenix. His last team was the New Jersey Nets who picked him up in 2007 as a free agent, but waived him before the season began. He ended his NBA career averaging 7.1 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game over 471 games. After being released by the Nets he went to Europe and signed with Eldo Basket Napoli (Italy-SerieA), finishing 4th in scoring in SerieA with a 17.9ppg average. Since then he’s played in Russia, Puerto Rico, and Israel.
