John Bynum retires

John Bynum (191 cm, Metropolitan State’00) has announced his retirement. He is leaving BV Chemnitz 99 from Germany’s Pro A. In the 2012-13 season the 35-year-old played 21 games for BV Chemnitz 99 and averaged 11.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. The outspoken Bynum was having some issues with young coach, Felix Schreier. He initially announced a departure from the team. This happened after the deadline, so the team cannot add a replacement for him.

Before joining BV Chemnitz 99, Bynum spent two seasons TBB Trier from Germany’s BBL. In 2011-12 Bynum averaged 6.3 ppg and 3.0 rpg in 32 games. In 2010-11 he logged averages of 6.9 ppg and 3.7 rpg.
