Joey Haywood back with Halifax Rainmen
The Halifax Rainmen (Canada NBL) have re-signed their All-Star guard, Joey Haywood for the 2014-15 season. Haywood (1.83m, college: St. Mary’s, Canada), averaged 12.6 points, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Rainmen as a rookie in 2011/2012. He was also honored by the NBL as the Player of the Week after his first week playing as a professional. In addition, he was named to the NBL 2nd-Team All-Defense team, was the co-captain of the NBL All-Star Game and was named NBL Canadian of the Year. He was the Canadian Interuniversity Sport scoring champion for the 2010-11 season while at St. Mary’s. Joey Haywood also spent his second season as a professional with the Halifax Rainmen before taking his skills overseas in 2013/2014 when he played in Denmark. This 2014/2015 season he started in Iceland but parted ways with U.M.F. Grindavik after only five games. He averaged 17,5 ppg during his short stint there.
