Boston Celtics star wing Jaylen Brown has decided to part ways with Kanye West’s Donda Sports agency, following the latter’s recent antisemitic comments. It’s a 180-degree turn for the Celtics star, as he previously said that he’ll be staying with Donda, per an interview with Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. In that Boston Globe interview, Brown did not defend West’s antisemitic statements but did reaffirm his commitment to the vision of the sports agency.

But with most brands and figures ending their affiliations with West, Brown did the same, as he released a statement announcing that he is “terminating his association” with Donda Sports. Brown apologized for the lack of clarity in his previous statements, and that he’s always against antisemitism, hate speech, and misrepresentation.

Along with Brown, NFL star Aaron Donald has also announced his departure from Donda Sports. Prominent brands have also dropped their partnership with Kanye, including adidas, Gap, Def Jam Records, Balenciaga, MRC Entertainment, Vogue Magazine, UTA, and CAA. Kanye’s finances will surely take a hit, with Forbes saying that his estimated net worth of $1.9 billion could drop to only $400 million after his partnership terminations.

While he is a star on the court, Jaylen Brown is also known for his voice off the court. At the young age of 22, he was elected as vice president of the National Basketball Players Association. He has also taken part in other social advocacy programs, helping boost the importance of education among the youth.

Jaylen Brown has been a vital cog for the Celtics, helping the team reach the NBA Finals last season. He is one of the great two-way talents we have in the league, with his propensity to create shots and also defend the opposing team’s best players on the other end of the floor.
