Jarrid Famous cut by Maccabi Haifa

Jarrid Famous (209 cm, Southern Florida’11) has been cut by Maccabi Hunter Haifa (Israel-Winner League) this 2016 after seeing action in six games. The player did not live up to the team’s expectations so the organization in looking into other options. In his brief run, Jarrid averaged 4.8 ppg and 4.7 rpg in 12 and a half minutes of action. Famous is a 28-year-old American player who also holds a Lebanese passport. He was a one-time member of the Lebanese national team in 2012.

It was a busy 2015-16 for Famous so far. He started off being released by the Dallas Mavericks in October 2015. He then signed with Chinese club Fujian Quanzhou Bank (China-CBA). He played seven games for them and produced averages of 11.6 ppg and 8.6 rpg. In December 2015 he moved to Yulon Luxgen (Taiwan-SBL) and eventually agreed to terms with Sagesse – Al Hekmeh Beirut (Lebanon-Pepsi LBL). In seven games for Sagesse he posted averages of 18.9 ppg and 14.3 rpg. Jarrid finally signed with the Bucaneros de Guaira (Venezuela-LPB) in March 2016. In 23 games he averaged 12.3 ppg and 8.2 rpg.
