Jaka Klobucar wins vs Partizan at BAT
Serbian player Jaka Klobucar (198 cm) filed a claim against former club BC Partizan NiS Beograd (Serbia-KLS) at the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) for amounts owed to him in a settlement agreement plus interest. The player claims that the team made only partial payments. Partizan did not initially participate in the proceedings, but later agreed to the validity of Klobucar’s claim, however contested the his legal fees.
The arbitrator of the case upheld the player’s claim in its entirety. Here are the details of the award:
1. Basketball Club Partizan must pay Mr. Jaka Klobucar EUR 120,000.00 net for unpaid salary together with interest at 5% per annum from 8 December 2013.
2. Basketball Club Partizan must pay Mr. Jaka Klobucar EUR 5,580.00 as reimbursement for his arbitration costs.
3. Basketball Club Partizan must pay Mr. Jaka Klobucar EUR 6,000.00 as a contribution to his legal fees and expenses.
4. Any other or further-reaching requests for relief are dismissed.
