Iraklis, Ness Ziona complete FIBA Europe cup Quarter-Finals lineup
Iraklis BC and Ironi Ness Ziona punched the final two spots to the Quarter-Finals as they set up an intriguing showdown that will take place on Friday.
The two teams join Arged BMSLAM Stal, BC Balkan, BC Parma, Belfius Mons-Hainaut, CSM CSU Oradea, and UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia as the last eight teams standing.
Olivier Hanlan played another starring role for Iraklis as the Greek side recorded their fourth win from as many games in this season’s competition by beating Anwil for an 86-81 triumph.
The Canadian guard finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists in the win, with Devin Ebanks adding 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting off the bench.
In the last Round of 16 fixtures, Ironi Ness Ziona turned the tide in the third quarter as they recovered from a double-digit deficit to set the platform for a 90-76 triumph over BC Kyiv Basket. Braian Angola led the charge with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, with Patrick Miller adding 20 points and 6 assists of his own.
Kyiv Basket had taken control of the contest as they established a 10-point advantage late in the second quarter. However, the tie was flipped on its head when play resumed as Ness Ziona outscored their opponents 29-8 in a pivotal spell.
Serhii Pavlov had 18 points off the bench for the side from Ukraine, as they were unable to make it successive trips to the last eight stage.
