Hrvoje Puljko lands with Shahrday Tabriz
Hrvoje Puljko (193 cm) is heading to Shahrdary Tabriz (Iran-Superleague). The Iranian team picks up the Croatian guard right as they begin their playoff run. Puljko adds experience to the backcourt of Tabriz as well as a lights-out three-point shooter. Earlier this season, the 34-year-old guard played with KK Zabok (Croatia-A1) for eight games. With Zabok, Puljko scored 22.5 ppg while shooting 40.8 percent from three. He also grabbed 4.5 rpg and found 3.8 apg with the Croatian team. He signed with Zabok after starting the season with KK Spartak Subotica (Serbia-KLS). In nine games in the KLS, he only averaged 11.1 ppg in a bench role that found him just 20.4 mpg.
Puljko now heads to the Superleague to join Tabriz. The team is currently in the playoffs and sits in fourth in their group with a 2-3 record. They qualified for the postseason after finishing sixth in the regular season standings at 9-9. Tabriz’ backcourt is crowded so playing time could be tough to find for Puljko.
