Gavin Ware inks deal with Paris-Levallois
Gavin Ware (206 cm, Mississippi State ’16) is the newest member of Paris-Levallois (France-Pro A). Ware makes the move after playing last season with Port of Antwerp Giants (Belgium-Euromillions League) for 54 games. This was his debut season in professional basketball and the big man played well in his first year. The Belgium team put Ware on the floor for 25.8 mpg in the Euromillions where he scored 13.6 ppg while pulling down 6.5 rpg. The young American helped the team finish third in the league standings with a 23-17 record. The team also saw European Cup action making it to the second stage.
Ware will now make the first transfer of his young career. His new team is in one of the toughest leagues in Europe but this shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for the big man. He’s seen quality competition in Belgium as well as in college in the SEC. Paris-Levallois is looking to take the next step in the Pro A. They sat in the top of the middle portion of the standings for most of last season. They finished sixth with a 20-14 record but there is still room to improve. The addition of Ware will add toughness to the front line as well as a player who can score in the paint. He has the ability to play both Power Forward and Center which should come in handy for Paris-Levallois.
