Gary Forbes signs with Cocodrilos de Caracas
Gary Forbes (201 cm, UMass ’08) continues his career with Cocodrilos de Caracas (Venezuela-LPB). The move follows a 12-game run with Boca Jr’s (Argentina-Liga A) which ended last month. Forbes has been a consistent scorer throughout his career. In Argentina, he scored 10.1 ppg while shooting 43.6 percent from three in just 20.7 mpg. Forbes
Forbes was in the D-league to begin his 2016/2017 season with the Long Island Nets. The guard played in 19 games with the Nets where he scored 7.3 ppg in a role off the bench. This marked his fourth consecutive season in the D-league. The Grand Rapids Drive also signed him during the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons. Forbes also spent time in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets in 2010/2011 and Toronto Raptors for the 2011/2012 season.
Now, Forbes heads to the LPB to join the defending champions of the league. Expectations continue to be sky-high for the Cocodrilos and the addition of Forbes should add a quality scorer off the bench. The Cocodrilos are off to a great start this season as they are first in the Western Conference with a 25-11 record.
