Fuerza Regia wins 2017 LNBP championship
Fuerza Regia Monterrey (Mexico-LNBP) bagged its first ever LNBP title when it came away with a dominant 82-68 victory over Soles de Mexicali in the finals. This was a fantastic climax to what was arguably their best season in the league. The finished with the best record at the end of the regular season at 32-4, head and shoulders above Soles which had a 23-13 slate. At the end of the day, or the season for that matter, Fuerza Regia proved to be the undeniably best team in the Mexican LNBP.
Fuerza Regia put forth an excellent team effort. They managed to overcome a huge game from Soles’ Alexander Perez-Kaufmann, who exploded for a game-high 24 points.
The key factor in the win came in the rebounding department. Fuerza Regia pulled down 34 rebounds, compared to 24 by Soles.
Hector Hernandez led three other Fuerza Regia players who scored in double figures with 18 points. He also added seven rebounds and four triples.
