First loss for Anadolu Efes
Anadolu Efes has lost the first game this season in the Turkish Basketball league. Afyon Belediye put an end to the 22-game winning streak by beating Efes with 103-85.
Aside from the 22-game winning streak in the Turkish Basketball league Anadolu Efes has also won eight games in a row in the Euroleague, which effectively means that they had a 30-game winning streak overall.
However, in yesterday’s loss, Anadolu Efes played without some key players. Frenchmen Adrien Moerman and Rodrigue Beaubois, as well as Vasilje Micic from Serbia and Krunoslav Simon from Croatia. The Turkish Basketball League only allows a maximum of five foreigners.
For Afyon Belediye, Francisco Cruz paced the efforts with 22 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds. Tanner Leissner added 20 points for the hosts that snapped back from a three-game losing streak.
