Fenerbahce Ulker tops CSKA Moscow in Zadar friendly
The weekend was loaded with many preseason friendly games. One of the more notable ones was the final game of the Zadar Basketball Tournament held in Croatia. It was participated in by some of Europe’s top international basketball teams. Brose Baskets Bamberg, CSKA Moscow, FC Bayern Muenchen, KK Zadar, BC Khimki Moscow Region, and Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul faced off in the warm-up tournament. Fenerbahce Ulker and CSKA Moscow, clubs that also clash regularly in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague locked horns to contest the gold. In the end, Fenerbahce edged out CSKA Moscow, 72-76 to bag the trophy.
As far as individual performances were concerned, CSKA Moscow’s Nando de Colo was a force to be reckoned with. He spearheaded his team’s offense throughout the tournament with 19 points per game.
At the end of the day, Fenerbahce’s balanced team effort paved the way to their success. Luigi Datome and Konstantinos Sloukas kept them in the game and made sure that victory would not slip from their grasp.
This was a great primer for what should be more clashes between these two clubs in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this 2017-18 season.
