Fedor Likholitov wins claim at BAT
Russian player Fedor Likholitov (210 cm) filed a claim against former club Krasnie Krilya Samara (Russia-PBL) at Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) seeking outstanding salaries, bonuses, and interest. The player claims that the team made only partial payments. He played for Krasnie Krilya in 2011-12 and is now currently playing for Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd (Russia-VTB) this 2014-15 season. Despite several invitations by the BAT, the repondent did not file an answer. The case’s arbitrator upheld Likholitov’s claim in its entirety.
The award reads as follows:
1. Basketball Club Krasnye Krylya Samara shall pay Mr. Fedor Likholitov USD 86,262.00, net of tax, as compensation for outstanding salaries, plus interest at 5% per annum on such amount from 1 July 2012 onwards.
2. Basketball Club Krasnye Krylya Samara shall pay Mr. Fedor Likholitov USD 5,000.00, net of tax, as compensation for an outstanding bonus, plus interest at 5% per annum on such amount from 1 July 2012 onwards.
3. Basketball Club Krasnye Krylya Samara shall pay Mr. Fedor Likholitov RUB 125,000.00, net of tax, as outstanding game bonuses, plus interest at 5% per annum on such amount from 1 July 2012 onwards.
4. Basketball Club Krasnye Krylya Samara shall pay Mr. Fedor Likholitov an amount of EUR 4,920.00 as reimbursement for his arbitration costs.
5. Basketball Club Krasnye Krylya Samara shall pay Mr. Fedor Likholitov an amount of EUR 5,000.00 as a contribution to his legal fees and expenses.
6. Any other or further-reaching requests for relief are dismissed.
