FC Barcelona suffers second straight EuroLeague defeat for the first time this season
FC Barcelona lost its second consecutive game in the EuroLeague for the first time in the 2020/21 season.
This time, the Catalans saw Anadolu Efes earn the 86-79 win at home.
Shane Larkin was unstoppable for the winners and led the way with 23 points.
Anadolu Efes used a 12-0 run in the second half to take control and cruise to the victory.
Efes snapped a three-game losing streak in the EuroLeague and improved to 8-8.
Meanwhile, Barcelona dropped to 11-5 and now is two wins away from the top.
CSKA Moscow never trailed against ASVEL Villeurbanne on the road and earned the 78-87 victory.
The Muscovites extended their winning streak to 11 games and still are the league leaders, at 13-3.
On the other hand, ASVEL lost for the first at home since November 13 (four straight wins) and now is at 5-10.
Maccabi Tel Aviv endured the comeback of Panathinaikos and edged the “Greens” at home (89-81).
Maccabi claimed its second win in a row and fourth in the last five EuroLeague games to improve to 7-9.
On the contrary, Panathinaikos dropped to 5-10 and remained close to the bottom of the standings.
The Israelis led by as many as 16 points in the contest, yet Nemanja Nedovic was unstoppable (career-high 39 points) and turned things around for the “Greens”.

Zenit now is at 9-5 in the EuroLeague standings, whereas Zvezda dropped to 5-11.
Real Madrid remained undefeated at home in the EuroLeague for a seventh consecutive game after dominating ALBA Berlin (91-62).
This was the 10th win for the “Whites” in the last 11 EuroLeague games.
Real improved to 11-5, tied with Barcelona for second in the EuroLeague standings. On the other hand, ALBA dropped to 6-9.
