Faisal Aden leaves Virtus Roma
Somalia-American point guard Faisal Aden (193 cm, Washington State’12) has parted ways with his club ACEA Virtus Roma (Italy, Serie A). Aden joined with Roma on February 26th but the player has failed to make an impact with the Italian club and has featured in 6 games and averaged just 4.5 minutes on the court.
It has proved to be a frustrating first season as a pro for 24-year old Faisal Aden. The player was drafted to the Santa Cruz Warriors in the D-League (USA) in the summer of 2012 but did not feature for the franchise before heading to pre-season with Leuven in the Belgian Etihas League. Unfortunately Aden failed the medical and departed before the season started.
This season has played out in contrast to Aden’s last season in college. Last season Aden was playing with Washington State in the NCAA, and it proved a good year for the guard who played in 17 games and along the way averaged 14.5ppg, 3.1rpg, and 1.4apg.
