Evgeny Pashutin appointed Unics head coach
Evgeny Pashutin will continue his career with the Russian Unics Kazan. The Russian specialist was confirmed as the head coach of the team. The well-known former Unics Kazan and CSKA Moscow player started his coaching career with the Moscow giant, leading the junior team through the 2003/2004 season. He moved up through the ranks at CSKA to become assistant coach between 2004 and 2008, an era that included two Euroleague championships. Evgeny Pashutin made the move up to head coach when he became chief tactician at Spartak St. Petersburg before landing the big one in Russia, the head role at CSKA Moscow. His stint with the giant lasted one season and he has since coached Unics Kazan and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar. Earlier the Russian Basketball Federation has brought Evgeny Pashutin as the new head coach. The 44-year-old Pashutin has been coaching Lokomotiv Kuban for the last two seasons. He led the team to a VTB United League finals appearance and a Eurocup Championship in 2013.
