Evan Ravenel inks with Akita Happinets
Evan Ravenel (203 cm, Ohio State’13) is Asia-bound after landing a deal to play for the Akita Northern Happinets (Japan-B League) this 2017. He began the 2016-17 season with Maccabi Hunter Haifa (Israel-Winner League). He was released in October 2016, without logging a game for them and was later signed by betFirst Liege Basket (Belgium-Euromillions League) that same month. The 27-year-old forward logged four games for Liege and was able to produce averages of 11.3 ppg and 3.8 rpg.
Evan is no stranger to Japanese hoops. He spent the 2015-16 season playing in Japan for the Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (Japan-BJ League). He played a total of 57 games for his former club and was able to deliver admirable averages. He notched a double-double clip with 16.7 ppg and 10.5 rpg. It was a solid year for him and his club. They plowed through the regular season and finished it off atop the standings. The Golden Kings then followed through in the Playofffs and captured the 2016 BJ League crown as well.
