Elias Harris joins the LA Lakers
Elias Harris (203 cm, Gonzaga’13) will become the latest European to play in the NBA after joining the Los Angeles Lakers. The rookie forward has built a reputation in college as a strong player with good shooting attributes and during his senior year with Gonzaga he played 35 games and averaged 14.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. The German played for the Lakers during the NBA Pro Summer League in Las Vegas where he featured in 5 games for the franchise and secured averages of 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
23-year old Elias Harris is now an official member of the LA Lakers but the full terms of his deal have not been revealed and a stint away from the team seems likely. Harris is not the only German plying his trade in the NBA as he will join compatriots Dirk Nowitzki, Chris Kaman, Tim Ohlbrecht and Dennis Schroeder in the league.
