Draw for the second round of FIBA Eurobasket 2025 pre-qualifiers
The draw for the second round of FIBA Eurobasket 2025 pre-qualifiers took place yesterday.
The 12 teams were split into three groups of four, with the six nations arriving from the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers slotting into pre-determined groups.
Meanwhile, the remaining six teams were seeded according to their results in the First Round of the Pre-Qualifiers, with one group winner and one non-group winner joining each group.
Here are the pairings:
Group D: Slovakia, Denmark, North Macedonia, Norway
Group E: Poland, Switzerland, Austria, Croatia
Group F: Cyprus, Romania, Portugal, Bulgaria
The Second Round of the Pre-Qualifiers will be played across three windows in August 2022, November 2022, and February 2023, with the winner of each group advancing to the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.
Cyprus has a guaranteed place in the Qualifiers as one of the confirmed co-hosts of the 2025 edition of Europe’s flagship competition.
The teams that do not advance from the Second Round will be joined by teams from the Pre-Qualifiers First Round in the Third Round of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Pre-Qualifiers, which will be the last opportunity for all teams to secure berths in the Qualifiers.
