Diamon Simpson heads to Trotamundos de Carabobo
Diamon Simpson (204 cm, St. Mary’s ’09) is continuing his season with Trotamundos de Carabobo (Venezuela-LPB). His debut with the team came yesterday against the Panteras (Venezuela-LPB). Trotamundos came away with a 7-75 victory. Simpson is being worked into the lineup as he only saw the floor for nine minutes. He scored one point from the free throw line while missing all of his three field goal attempts. Also, Simpson grabbed one rebound.
Simpson has shown on his previous teams that he can consistently score and rebound off the bench. In six games with Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (Israel-Winner League) Simpson scored 9.2 ppg while recording 6.7 rpg in 19.8 mpg. Before playing in Israel, the forward started the season with CEZ Nymburk (Czech Republic-NBL) and put up similar numbers there with 8.3 ppg and 5.4 rpg. The bench role is where he’s contributed this season and look for nothing to change for his new team.
