Derek Wright lands with Vechta
Derek Wright (180 cm, Austin Peay State´08) will play in Germany this season after agreeing to terms with Vechta (ProA). The American player will replace Ahmad Smith who left the squad. During the 2013/2014 season, Derek Wright was on the roster of three consecutive teams. He first appeared with Upea Capo d’Orlando but left the team shortly. Later he headed to Lions de Geneve (Switzerland-LNA) and averaged 11.7 ppg and 4.0 rpg in three games. He ended the season with Greek Rethymno Aegean where he logged 10.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. The 2012-2013 season the point guard was in action for CS U-Mobitelco Cluj Napoca in the Romanian Division A where he played 32 games. It was a fantastic season for Derek Wright as he averaged 14.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for Cluj. The 27-year old also finished the campaign leading the Romanian league in assists (6.8) and steals (2.9) per game.
