DeAndre Kane heads to Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv
DeAndre Kane (193 cm, Iowa State ’14) is the newest member of Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (Israel-Winner League). The addition of Kane should bring another back court player who knows how to put the ball in the hole. The majority of his 2016/2017 campaign came with BC Nizhny Novgorod (Russia-VTB) where he played 31.9 mpg. His major role led him to average 15.9 ppg in the VTB as well as grabbing an impressive 7.0 rpg and dishing 3.6 apg. Not only did he contribute on the offensive end, but he also can play intense defense. His effort and quick hands allowed him to find steals consistently through the year as he recorded 2.2 spg.
Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv is excited to see what the 28-year-old guard can do for them next season. The Israel league is filled with quality teams which made their fourth place finish last year that much more impressive. They went on to reach the Winner Cup semifinal but came up short against Maccabi Hunter Haifa (Israel-Winner League). Now, they add Kane to the mix which could lead to astounding results next season. He played in the league once before with Hapoel Eliat (Israel-Winner League) in the 2015/2016 season and averaged 12.6 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.7 spg, and 2.7 apg. Expect similar numbers out of the starting lineup for Kane.
