Daniel Orton brought in by GS Kymis
Daniel Orton (208 cm, Kentucky’10) is on the move to GS Kymis (Greece-A1). This will be his second appearance in Greece. GS Kymis will look to improve their 5-8 record in the A1. Previously, Daniel Orton was playing for Hunan Yongsheng (China-NBL). He found that he can play at a high level in the Chinese league while averaging 22.3 ppg with 12.8 rpg and 2.5 blocks. He then tried to make it with Mayrouba Club (Lebanon-LBL) but failed to sign a contract.
The Orlando Magic originally drafted the Center with the 29th overall pick out of the University of Kentucky. His career began by the team sending him directly to the D-League to play with the New Mexico Thunderbirds. He found his chance to debut in the NBA on January 27, 2012, with Orlando, but was released after the 2012/2013 season. Oklahoma City Thunder picked up Orton, who appeared in 13 games with them. The team waived him on October 10, 2013. The Philadelphia 76ers picked up the big man in 2013, where he averaged 3.0 ppg with the 76ers. However, he was released after 22 games into the season. He has not played in the NBA since.
