Daniel Orton added by Champville
Daniel Orton (208 cm, Kentucky ’10) is on the move to Champville (Lebanon-Pepsi LBL). The big man heads to the Pepsi LBL for the first time in his career after playing this season with GS Kymis (Greece-A1). In 12 games with Kymis, Orton struggled to get on the floor. The team decided to put him in the game for 17.0 mpg in which he averaged 9.3 ppg with 4.6 rpg and 1.0 bpg.
Orton will now head to Lebanon to help his new team finish the season strong. Currently, Champville sits in last place in their group with a 9-14 record. The 26-year-old Orton will add big man depth and experience to the Champville roster.
Orton’s experience includes stops all around the world including the NBA. The Orlando Magic drafted Orton in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft. Multiple NBA teams brought in Orton to play on both their NBA and D-league rosters. This went on until October 2014 when he decided to sign with Shanxi Zhongyu (China-CBA). He’s made comebacks to the D-league since moving to China but will now experience the Pepsi LBL for the first time.
