Damian Lillard set to make NBA history
Portland Trail Blazers’ sophomore point guard Damian Lillard (193 cm, Weber State’12) will be able to achieve a historic feat during the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend. The event will be held in New Orleans this February 14-16. Lillard will be the first player in NBA history to play in five events. More than a few NBA superstars have shied away from competing in some of the events in recent years. Lillard, the 2013 Rookie of the Year award winner, is clearly cut from a different cloth and prefers to do things his way.
Friday:
BBVA Rising Stars Challenge
Saturday:
Taco Bell Skills Challenge
Foot Locker Three-Point Contest
Sprite Slam Dunk Contest
Sunday:
All-Star Game
According to Lillard:
“So I just felt like it was something that had never been done, and I’m capable of doing all the things that need to be done in all the competitions, so I figured why not go out and be the first one to do everything and get that experience?”
