D.J. Richardson signs with s. Oliver Wuerzburg
D.J. Richardson (190 cm, Illinois ’13) is the newest member of s. Oliver Wuerzburg (Germany-BBL). The guard is a solid scorer and will look to continue his scoring ways for Wuerzburg next season. The team went 11-21 last season which slotted them 14th in the BBL. They are in need of an offensive play maker to improve from their poor 2015/2016.
Richardson showed off his ability to put the ball in the basket last season with Proximus Spirou Charleroi (Belgium-Euromillions). In 37 games in Belgium, the 26-year-old recorded 13.3 ppg while shooting 44.7 percent from down town. He was able to put up high point totals while only playing 25.7 mpg. Spirou finished fifth in the Euromillions, with the help of Richardson, with an 18-18 record.
Richardson has never played in the BBL in his four-year career. He will start next season and do what he can to prove that he belongs. The guard played in Austria, Finland, Belgium, and now Germany since going pro in 2013.
