Curtis Jerrells lands with Unics Kazan
Curtis Jerrells (185 cm, Baylor’09) will be taking his talents to BC Unics Kazan (Russia-VTB) this coming 2014-15 season. The guard played 2013-14 for the 2014 Italian Serie A champions EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. Jerrells also played in 28 games for Armani on its road to the Euroleague quarterfinals. He averaged 11.3 ppg and 2.5 apg in the Premier European league. In the domestic Italian Serie A Curtis managed to appear in a total of 46 games and was able to produce averages of 8.5 ppg and 1.8 apg.
In 2012-13 Curtis spent some time in the NBA D-League, initially signing with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, but was traded to the Maine Red Claws where he averaged 14.9 ppg and 5.4 apg in 12 games.
Before moving to the D-League, Jerrells started the 2012-13 season with Turkish giant Besiktas Istanbul. Curtis played 17 games for Besiktas in the Euroleague and averaged 14.2 ppg and 2.9 apg. In 17 games in the Turkish league, he hit averages of 12.1 ppg and 3.0 apg.
