Crvena Zvezda beats Partizan in Belgrade derby
Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) defeated Partizan and took the lead in their ABA league all-time head-to-head score for the first time in competition history.
The red-and-white part of Belgrade will be celebrating this night as Crvena Zvezda defeated Partizan in a dramatic ending. Crvena Zvezda has therefore kept the perfect score in the 2020/21 ABA League regular season as they are now 8-0 overall, while city rival Partizan dropped to 4-4.
By winning this Belgrade derby, Crvena Zvezda has managed to take the lead in the ABA League all-time head-to-head score vs. Partizan for the first time in competition history. The score is now 22:21 for Crvena Zvezda.
During the game, both teams had many ups and downs. Still, it was Crvena Zvezda who was in front of most of the match. The red-and-whites had a double-digit lead in each quarter. However, they almost dropped everything in the final minutes. Rade Zagorac scored a challenging 3-point shot 30 seconds before the end to reduce Zvezda’s lead to just one point – 86:85. In the following play, Taylor Rochestie missed a 3-pointer, so Partizan had 6 seconds to win the game. Codi Miller-McIntyre went coast-to-coast for a 2-point floater… But he missed the shot, and the result remained – 86:85 for Crvena Zvezda.
