Crvena Zvezda advances to the ABA League Finals
Crvena Zvezda crushed Partizan in Game 3 of the semi-finals series (84-63) and advanced to the Finals of the ABA League (or Adriatic League).
Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) took control from the first half and never looked back (41-21). They led by as many as 35 points (78-43) and cruised to an easy victory. For their part, Partizan played very poorly on both ends and was never a threat since the beginning of the game.
Greek import player Stratos Perperoglou led Crvena Zvezda with 18 points. Filip Covic added 10 points and six assists.
Vanja Marinkovic (12 points) and Nikola Ivanovic (10 points) were the only two players that scored in double figures for the losing squad.
Even though Partizan forced Game 3, Crvena Zvezda eventually stepped up and won the series 2-1. They will now face either Cedevita or Buducnost in the Finals.
Partizan, on the other hand, ended the season in disappointment. They will most likely play in the EuroCup next year.
In Game 3 of the other semi-final game Cedevita (Croatia), will host Buducnost (Montenegro on Sunday (April 7). Their series is tied at1-1.
The winner of the ABA League will qualify for the 2019/20 EuroLeague season.
