Cory Jefferson brought in by EA7 Armani Milano
Cory Jefferson (206 cm, Baylor ’14) is the newest member of the frontcourt for EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (Italy-Serie A). The forward moves over to Italy after playing most of the last season with the Austin Spurs (USA-D League). Jefferson played really well in the D-League with one of the better teams in the standings. The Spurs started Jefferson and he rewarded the team with 15.8 ppg while shooting 38.4 percent from three. His ability to stretch out beyond the arch can only excite his new Italian club. Rebounding is also a strength for him as he grabbed 8.4 rpg with the Spurs.
His success in the D-League should equate to more success with the defending Italian league champions. Armani Milano is a dominant force in the Serie A as they’ve finished first in the regular season for four straight seasons. The trophy went their way last season but this was only the first title in their dominant four-year run. The roster is undergoing somewhat of a makeover but the new additions, including Jefferson, should keep the team on the right path.
