Clifford Hammonds joins Piratas de Quebradillas
Clifford Hammonds (191 cm, Clemson ’08) agreed to terms with the Piratas de Quebradillas (Puerto Rico-BSN). This is his first season in South America since going pro after he graduated in 2008. The majority of his experience has come in Europe, including last season in Germany and France. The guard began the 2016/2017 campaign with Limoges CSP (France-Pro A) but left after six games. He, then, joined MHP RISEN Ludwigsburg in mid-November and stayed with the team for the remainder of the season. In 27 BBL games, the 31-year-old American scored just 8.5 ppg with 4.7 apg with Ludwigsburg. However, The stat sheet does not tell the whole story for Hammonds. He is a very good perimeter defender as well as the type of leader that any team would love to have. Hammonds has the ability to cover any guard coming his way.
The veteran guard now takes his game to the BSN with Quebradillas. The team is one of the best teams in Puerto Rico and currently sits in third with an 18-10 record. Hammonds will add a strong work-ethic to the vibe of the Puerto Rican team. Expect his fiery nature to have an effect on the team as well as the BSN.
