CEZ Nymburk wins 2016 Czech NBL Crown
CEZ Nymburk has once again asserted its dominance in the Czech Republic NBL by winning the 2016 league championship. They swept BK Decin 3-0 in the Finals series, en route to the organization’s record 13th title. They crushed their guests 102-53 in what would end up being an easy victory. It was a tough series for BK Decin as it was missing a number of its players who were out with the mumps. Still, the undermanned squad gave it their best. However, against a healthy and motivated Nymburk club there was no denying the defending champions another trip to the top of the podium.
This third game of the series was all Nymburk, all the way. They were focused on closing out the series with a quick and decisive game, and that they delivered. CEZ Nymburk surged far ahead as early as the first quarter with a 35-16 advantage. Every period thereafter, the lead grew larger and larger, with Nymburk scoring at will and Decin being unable to find any answers.
CEZ Nymburk posted an advantage in virtually every statistical category. Chasson Randle led the team with a game-high 22 points. It was however Vojtech Hruban was named the Most Valuable Player of the Finals. He ended the game with 14 points. Martin Kriz was just a point shy of posting a double-double performance with nine points and 10 rebounds. Filip Kroutil was the leading scorer for Decin with 13 points.
