CEZ Nymburk tabs playmaker Taylor

Mike Taylor - Crvena ZvezdaCEZ Nymburk signed dynamic guard Mike Taylor for the coming season, the club announced Monday. Taylor (26 years old, 1.88 meters) arrives from the Greek League, where he played for Kavala last season and averaged 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2 assists over 22 games. His previous international experience comes from the 2009-10 season, when he led Crvena Zvezda to the Last 16 round of the Eurocup. Taylor was the Eurocup MVP of the week for the final game of the regular season when he complied 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting plus 5 rebounds and 5 steals in a 21-point rout of Benetton Treviso. He averaged 11.3 points and 1.6 steals in 12 Eurocup games that season. Taylor played college basketball at Iowa University and started his professional career in his native United States with the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA and Idaho of the D League. He also played for Crvena Zvezda in Serbia and Tezenis Verona in Italy before joining Kavala last season.

“Mike is a young, talented player,” Nymburk coach Neno Ginzburg said. “He is an excellent point guard, but can also play shooting guard. he’s a great defender and a very good athlete. He had a successful season last year.”
