CEZ Nymburk Defends Czech NBL Title
CEZ Nymburk reasserted their dominance over the Czech NBL. On May 24th they steamrolled over BK Opava 114-73 in the finals to repeat as Czech NBL Champions. This is the organization’s 16th-straight title and is one of the longest domestic championship streaks in Europe.
CEZ Nymburk cruised to this easy victory. They led from the opening whistle and were never at risk of losing control of the game. BK Opava was just not at their level and was outclassed in every statistical category.
Martin Kriz led the way for CEZ Nymburk with a game-high 17 points and missed a double-double by just one rebound. Vojtech Hruban added 16 points, while Dardan Berisha chipped in 15 points off the bench. Vaclav Bujnoch was the top scorer for Opava with 13 points.
Nymburk as a large budget thanks to sponsorships and an impressive program that keeps them on a winning track. Until other teams in the Czech NBL can find the financial support to match their resources, Nymburk should remain a dominant force in the league for years to come.
