Cedevita Zagreb wins Kresimir Cosic Cup
Cedevita Zagreb picked up a major piece of silverware after outgunning KK Zadar to lift the Kresimir Cosic Cup, the cup competition of Croatia. Cedevita won an exciting contest 86-82 to claim its third Kresimir Cosic Cup, while also preventing Zadar from winning its record equalling seventh.
Zadar edged the first quarter to carry a 17-23 lead into the second period after ten minutes of play. In the second act Cedevita edged back, but during the long break Zadar managed to hold onto its lead, with the scoreboard reading 46-50. The Zagreb contingent finally started to get to grips with Zadar’s defence and in the third stanza Cedevita closed it to a two point game at 67-69. With the momentum now in favour of the 2014/2015 Euroleague competitor and Cedevita Zagreb finally emerged with the win.
Miro Bilan was the pilar for Cedevita Zagreb as he posted the games only double-double, 20 points and 10 boards. Bilan was followed by Nemanja Gordic with 19 points and Fran Pilepic with 15 points in the winning effort.
James Florence was in touch again for Zadar as he topped the scoring with 24 points and also finished as the highest scorer in the competition.
