Cedevita Zagreb makes ABA League final
Cedevita Zagreb will clash with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade in the finals of the Adriatic League after taking out Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 66-70 in the semi-finals series. Cedevita is perhaps a surprise finalist, but the Croatian club stunned Buducnost in the decisive fifth game of the series, a shock considering the Podgorica club was at home.
However, Cedevita Zagreb faces the competitions form team in Crvena Zvezda when the ABA League finals take place next month. The visitors opened a slender 14-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, before upping the tempo in the second quarter to take a 33-39 lead into the long break. In the third stanza Buducnost got back into the game and made it a three point game through thirty minutes, the scoreboard reading 50-53. In the fourth frame the teams traded scores, but Cedevita Zagreb held on to claim the win.
Miro Bilan topped the scoring with 16 points, followed by 12 points from Luka Babic and Marko Tomas with 11 points.
Darko Planinic and J.R. Reynolds led Buducnost with 13 points each.
