Buducnost still Tops Adriatic League
Two Adriatic League games were played on December 28th. Fourth-ranked Mega Leks managed to squeeze out a tight win against MZT Skopje on the road. Mega Leks has been doing well in the Adriatic league and are holding steady with their 11-6 record, while MZT Skopje is still very much in the mix for a playoff berth. They’re currently in sixth place and have a 7-10 slate. League leader, KK Buducnost Voli Podgorica completely dominated KK Zadar, 52-65. Buducnost, now at 15-2, remains one game ahead of KK Cedevita Zagreb (14-3). The loss sends KK Zadar to seventh place in the league with their 7-10 record.
Zadar vs. Buducnost, 52-65
This was an easy one for the league’s top dog. Buducnost led from start to finish and were not at risk of losing the game at any point. Tadija Dragicevic exploded for 22 points and five rebounds. He pretty much had his way against Zadar’s defense and dominated on the offensive end. Aleksandar Maric chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds of his own.
Three-point shooting played a key role in this game. Buducnost converted on twice as many shots as Zadar, 8-of-29 compared to 4-of-27.
Zadar’s offense could not get going. Filip Kraljevic was the lone bright spot for Zadar. He was the only one to score in double figures with 12 points. As a team, KK Zadar shot a poor 33.3% from the field. Giving credit where it is due, Buducnost’s defense was solid throughout the game.
Buducnost continues to dominate, but their top spot is not secure just yet. Cedevita Zagreb and Crvena Zvezda are legitimate challengers to that throne.

He was a perfect 10-for-10 from two-point range and missed his lone attempt from deep. Savovic finished with 24 points and five rebounds for the winning club. Danilo Nikolic added 15 points in the winning effort.
