Brose Bamberg claims German BBL three peat
Brose Bamberg continued to dominate Basketball in Germany by winning the title once again. A 76-58 home win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg in Game 3 of the finals series allowed the Bamberg giant to sweep the series and claim a three-peat of titles.
Additionally, Brose Baskets has now won seven of the last eight league titles and has eight overall. Without doubt, the club is the modern dominant force in German hoops.
In Game 3, the champs had home court advantage as they sought to wrap up the title. The games started slow, with Oldenburg largely keeping pace. However, Bamberg led 19-17 at the first split. The hosts managed to extend their lead to 39-34 through the long break, but the game was still wide open.
During the third act, Brose Bamberg continued to hold the momentum and added another three points to the deficit to lead by 8 points through thirty minutes. The champs killed the game in the fourth quarter by limiting Oldenburg to just 9 points.
Maodo Lo secured 15 points in the win, while Fabien Causeur and Janis Strelnieks drained 11 points apiece.
Brian Qvale poured in 12 points for the losing effort, followed by Dennis Kramer’s 10 points.
