Brandon Robinson joins the Storm
(Summerside, PE) STORM owners Duncan Shaw and Darren MacKay along with Head Coach Joe Salerno announced today the signing of Brandon Robinson, a 6’6” small forward who was released from the Halifax Rainmen roster yesterday.
Robinson was the player involved in the non-trade with Halifax last month when the STORM felt they had a deal done with the Rainmen but found out at the last minute that Halifax had pulled back from the trade.
Robinson, from Lake Wales, Florida, played his college ball at Clayton State where he was an All-American in 2010-11 when he led the Peach Belt Conference in scoring.
Leading the NBL in scoring last season for Oshawa Power at 19.9 points per game, Brandon earned a number individual awards from the League. Robinson was named NBL Rookie of the Year, was an All-Star selection, MVP of the NBL All-Star game where he scored 38 points, and was twice named NBL Player of the Week.
With Halifax this season, Robinson was averaging 16.7 points per game and 8.5 rebounds. Robinson is also the NBL’s All-Time leading scorer.
The latest addition to the STORM lineup is expected to play this week when the Summerside Pro Basketball plays at home this Friday at 7pm against the Saint John Mill Rats.
