Brad Greenberg vs. Avtodor Saratov, arbitration at BAT
American Coach Brad Greenberg filed a claim against BC Avtodor Saratov (Russia-VTB). Greenberg claims the team failed to fulfill their agreement to pay his total salary as well as plane tickets, housing, automobile or health club membership. BC Avtodor Saratov has employed Greenberg as their coach since 2015 and acknowledged that they failed to fully compensate him.
The arbitrator partially upheld the claim. The Award reads as follows:
For the reasons set forth above, the Coach is entitled to receive USD 83,500.00 in compensation for the 2015-2016 season, plus interest of 5% p.a. from 16 November 2015 on the amount of USD 1,877.00 from 16 December 2015 on the amount of USD 9,386.00;from 16 January 2016 on the amount of USD 9,386.00; from 16 February 2016 on the amount of USD 9,386.00; from 16 March 2016 on the amount of USD 9,386.00; from 16 April 2016 on the amount of USD 9,386.00; from 16 May 2016 on the amount of USD 4,693.00; from 2 June 2016 on the amount of USD 30,000.00. 11 This finding is without prejudice to any right that the Agent may have against the Club under the Coach Contract. Arbitral Award 31/33 (BAT 0785/15) 114. He is further entitled to receive RUB 5,900.00, £ 90.00, and RUB 35,545.00 (unpaid expenses), plus interest of 5% p.a. from 19 December 2015. 115. All amounts are to be paid net of all deductions for social insurance and/or taxes.
