Boris Diaw Retires From Basketball

Boris Diaw Boris Diaw (203 cm) has bid goodbye to basketball and has announced his retirement from the game via his Twitter account on Friday. Diaw is a 36-year-old French-Senegalese international basketball player who has been a member of the French National Team since 2002. He, Nicolas Batum, and Tony Parker were at the core of the team when France was a force to be feared and respected in the World stage.

Diaw was named the NBA Most Improved Player in 2006 while playing for the Phoenix Suns. It was in that season that the NBA and World took notice of his unique skill set as a play-making facilitator in the paint. The big man has shown that his toolbox of skills would be useful for teams wanting a run at a title. He won an NBA championship with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014.

In 2017-18 Diaw ended his career with the Levallois Metropolitans (France-Pro A). He played nine games for them in the Eurocup and averaged 11.0 ppg and 7.1 rpg. Diaw logged 31 games in the domestic French League and posted averages of 11.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg.
