Bologna edges Monaco 77-75 in 7Days EuroCup
The 7Days EuroCup closed out Round 5 action on Wednesday night and it was not too surprising that the surging BC Partizan Beograd kept their unbeaten streak alive (5-0).
Partizan easily cruised to a 60-82 blowout win over Limoges CSP Elite. Limoges got off to an early lead by the end of the first quarter, 25-16. However, the tables turned in the second quarter as Partizan turned up the heat for a 7-20 splash. The third quarter was another slaughter 8-20 and the game was out of reach from there.
But that was not the most exciting game of the round. In Group A action, Segafredo Virtus Bologna edged out AS Monaco 77-75 to move to 4-1 and take second place in the group standings, with Promitheas (4-1) keeping a marginal lead.
No surprises were afoot as Bologna leaned on their star guard Milos Teodosic, who poured in 24 points, which included key plays in the dying minutes of the game. He delivered all throughout the game and when his team needed him the most. The MVP-caliber performance was a sight to behold. Teodosic has been the lifeblood of the club’s success so far both in the EuroCup and the domestic Italian League. His strong play has set the context for their winning ways.
Monaco falls to 3-2 but are still relatively comfortable as they sit in third place. For now.
