Ben Uzoh lands with Aalstar
Ben Uzoh (191 cm, Tulsa ’10) is on his way to join Crelan Okapi Aalstar (Belgium-Euromillions). The 28-year-old is making his return to professional basketball after a stint with the Canton Charge (D-league) in the 2013/2014 season. He spent 13 games with the team with averages of 7.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg and 2.6 apg. This marked the third season in a row in the D-league for Uzoh. When he first came into the D-league in the 2011/2012, the Cleveland Cavaliers liked what they saw and signed him on to the NBA roster. The team only kept him around for two games before sending him back down to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Uzoh never played in an NBA regular season game again.
Now Uzoh will continue his career with Aalstar. In the Euromillions league, the team is in the middle of the pack with a 12-12 record. The Belgium team hopes Uzoh can use his high-level basketball experience to help the team take a step forward.
