Bauermann confirmed for Poland nationals

Dirk Baaermann has officially been announced as the new head coach of the Polish National team. The news comes after weeks of rumours suggesting he would get the post. Bauermann will guide the Polish NT in this year’s EuroBasket championships in Slovenia, while he will begin training with his players in mid-July.

Bauermann brings with him experience at club and national level. He has led many German franchises, while he has also been the German national coach on three separate occasions (’94, 2003-2008, 2010-2011). German born Bauermann has guided several clubs throughout Europe, including Leverkusen (BBL), Oostende (Belgium, Div 1), Apollon (Greece), Hagen, Dafni Athens (Greece), Bamberg (BBL), and Brose Baskets (BBL), while his latest role was as head coach of Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) between 2010 and 2012.
