Basketball Champions League Groups Are Set
The Basketball Champions League qualifiers are done and the field of participating teams for the 2017-18 season is complete. After three grueling rounds in the qualifiers, eight teams booked their tickets to the BCL regular season. Juventus Utena, Rosa Radom, Telekom Baskets Bonn, Pinar Karsiyaka, SikeliArchivi Capo d’Orlando, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, Nanterre 92, and Movistar Estudiantes emerged as the best teams and complete the 32-team lineup for the league’s second season.
The BCL’s regular season tips off on October 10th. There will be four groups, comprised of eight teams each, will play in a round robin system. The top 4 ranked teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.
Here is the breakdown of the four groups:
Group A
AS Monaco (FRA), Hapoel Holon (ISR), UCAM Murcia (ESP), Enisey Krasnoyarsk (RUS), Dinamo Sassari (ITA), EWE Baskets Oldenburg (GER), Juventus Utena (LTU), Pinar Karsiyaka (TUR)
Group B
Gaziantep (TUR), Elan Chalon (FRA), Iberostar Tenerife (ESP), Neptunas Klaipeda (LTU), Ventspils (LAT), PAOK (GRE), MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg (GER), SikeliArchivi Capo d’Orlando (ITA)
Group C
AEK (GRE), Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA), Petrol Olimpija (SLO), medi Bayreuth (GER), Banvit (TUR), SIG Strasbourg (FRA), Movistar Estudiantes (ESP), Rosa Radom (POL)
